Let the bartering begin!

Two weekends ago we hosted the third Laurel Street Trading Post. In my humble opinion, it was a success!! About 40 people came, most of whom were new faces, and so many items were traded. I didn't even get a chance to see everything that folks brought, as items were put out on the table and then instantly nabbed by the many eager eyes.

There was a table dedicated entirely to seeds. We collected the extras left behind and will bring them back to the next TP, maybe to give away kind of like party favors?

What a lovely spread of goods. This is only a small section of all that was shared. I was impressed with the variety of items, and most of the goods were hand/home made. (It is hard to tell in the picture, but the jars with almond butter labels are actually full of our neighbor's granola. Yum!) It was interesting to note that some of the non-food items were almost more popular than food items. Mostly I am thinking about the awesome tool kit that James scored. I have used it nonstop since bringing it home. It even has a chargeable battery-operated drill! The notebook in the picture was my attempt to document everything that was traded. It all happened so fast, though, that I was only able to write down a fraction of things exchanged. I plan to post a list of items traded on the TP website, we'll see when I actually get around to that. Are people interested in having this available?

Overall, the March trading hours most definitely qualify as a success because both a baby and a dog decided to show up. This is the ultimate proof of a family-friendly event!

We'd love to see you at the next trading hours: *Sunday April 11th, 3:30-5:00pm, 25 Laurel Street.*
